Les Landes and surroundings
Camping in Les Landes is about much more than just sun, sea and sand. This peaceful region in France is also known for its picture-perfect villages, striking natural scenery and several spa resorts. A real highlight is the town of Dax, where you’ll find a fountain in the centre with naturally warm water. It was the Romans who first discovered the therapeutic qualities of Dax’s natural springs, and to this day Dax remains a popular spa destination. The waters are traditionally associated with easing rheumatic complaints. Dax also has a number of historic Roman remains. A visit to the Borda Museum is well worth it too.

Côte d'Argent
The Côte d'Argent is famous for its long sandy beaches and draws surfers in particular. Even if you don’t plan to get in the water yourself, it’s well worth a visit — watching the surfers is part of the fun.
The forest near Les Landes
The forest near Les Landes is a beautiful natural area with excellent walking routes for both casual walkers and experienced hikers. Cycling through this vast woodland is also highly recommended.
Dax
Dax is the cultural heart of Les Landes. Alongside its natural springs, you’ll find historic ruins, interesting museums, a Gothic-Neoclassical church and a lovely park.
Mont-de-Marsan
Further inland lies the town of Mont-de-Marsan. Even though it’s away from the golden beaches, it’s still well worth a visit. This medieval town has a rich history that stretches all the way to the Second World War.
