Can You Bring Your Dog to the Campsite?
Whether you take your dog on holiday depends on several factors. First, you need to decide if it’s something you want. If your dog cannot be left alone, it might not be the best idea. For example, if you plan to spend a few hours at the beach or go on a bike ride where your dog can’t join, it could be a nuisance for other campers if your dog is left barking or causing trouble in the tent or caravan. However, if your dog is comfortable being alone, you can certainly take them to a campsite in the Netherlands where dogs are welcome.
Camping with Your Dog by the Coast or in the Forest
In the Netherlands, dogs are the most popular pets. Unlike cats, dogs are often more attached to their owners. Cats often prefer their own environment, so generally, it’s better not to bring them on holiday, with some exceptions. Most dogs will appreciate being included in your holiday plans. Just keep in mind that many dogs can get carsick, so make sure to plan regular breaks if you have a longer drive ahead. Don’t forget to bring your dog’s usual food and their own food and water bowls to help them feel at home at your holiday destination.
Renting Accommodation at a Dog-Friendly Campsite
Camping with your dog in a tent can sometimes be a bit challenging. Luckily, there are dog-friendly campsites in the Netherlands where you can rent accommodation. A spacious mobile home or safari tent can be more comfortable when your dog joins you, giving them their own spot with their bed. This makes for a more enjoyable experience for both your dog and your family. Glamping is definitely worth considering if you plan to camp with your dog in the Netherlands.
